Christmas Charity Appeal 2020 Update
We are very proud to announce our Christmas charity appeal has raised over £4,000! Some of this money has come from the recycling bag collection service we offered during the lockdown. For every household who used our services, we promised to donate £1.00 to the food bank, so a big thank you to those people who helped raise £540.00 towards this total.
We would also like to thank everyone else who helped us raise the money and spread a little Christmas cheer including Getech, AA Turner Tankers, Colchester Anti Loo Roll Brigade, Lady Grace Boat Trips, Mollie, a local makeup artist, and our own employees.
We’ve been lucky enough to be able to donate the following to those who are less fortunate:
⭐ Next Chapter Women’s Refuge – We have ensured every child has a gift and that every mother receives a gift card. Plus we have given away seven Christmas day hampers to families who are out in the community. These hampers will provide food for breakfast, dinner and tea, along with all the treats such as sweets, biscuits, savoury snacks, mince pies, lemonade, coke and squash – things that a lot of us take for granted. We’ve also ensured every child will receive a selection box, a gift and a Christmas game for the whole family to play.
One of the families who has received a hamper is finally being housed has very little to start their new home, so we have purchased them some household items including a microwave, kettle and toaster. We have also given a Kindle tablet to each of her two teenage children plus we thought mum needed a treat too, so we put together a pamper hamper.
⭐ Family Solutions North – We gave them four Christmas day hampers and again, ensured every child has a gift and a family game. They also received additional food and toys to help other families in need within the community.
⭐ Colchester Anti Loo Roll Brigade – We provided additional items of food and toys to a struggling family of ten and the two older teenagers received a Kindle tablet each.
Peter Dutch is also working with the same charities and many more, take a look at his facebook page to see all of the good work he is achieving in the surrounding area.
⭐ Colchester Food Bank – We provided 416.6kg of food for struggling families as well as four boxes of toys. Due to the current pandemic, they are having to support more local families, so thank you to all of them for their hard work and dedication during this extremely challenging period.
